| The CAFI viewer project is a test of the technology that connects NASA data resources at archives through OPeNDAP servers to clients built using the DIAL technology. | ||||
| NOTE: the CAFI Viewer is a DEMO viewer, and so the User Interface and the Data are for demonstration purposes only. No warranty actual or implied is given for its use. | ||||
| FAQs: | ||||
| How do I get the NDVI data? | Make sure that the "NDVI Coverage Grid" button is selected. Then use your mouse to choose any one of the Landsat data sets.
| Can I get more than one NDVI dats set at the same time. | No. These files are not connected and must be retrieved one at a time. Remember that the client is creating the NDVI from the Landsat data set.
| When I click on a menu nothing happens. | IF the program is retrieving data, the message "Retrieving Data: one moment please..." appears on the screen. You must wait until the data has been retrieved before you can interact with the user interface.
| How do I zoom in? | Any time that the "NDVI Coverage Grid" button is NOT selected you can use your mouse to zoom in. Simply drag your mouse to select the area you want to see.
| Why does Panning take so long? | Remember this is not Google. Every time you pan to a new area you are requesting new data from the server, and this needs to be processed by the client. Remember how long it used to take to do a data request for landsat data and then think how FAST this is!
| How do I get more information about the CAFI viewer? | You can request information from Marty Landsfeld: marty@tnms.org | |||
| FINAL WORD: The CAFI viewer uses technologies developed during the demo process, including a new OPeNDAP GeoTIFF server, updates to the OPeNDAP IDL client, and dedicated data serving by the GLCF. This project has been funded by NASA through a SEEDS grant to the ESIP Federation, and also by support to the DIAL ACCESS project. |
